Introduction :

What could be more important for a company than the performances of its employees?

The way towards performance requires an approach centered on the businesses objectives and requires tools that are adapted to each of the company’s units.  Performance appraisal is based on facts i.e. results and behaviour.  This process serves a two-fold purpose: to motivate employees in the work place and to encourage their personal development.

This training will provide you with the right tools to manage performance and to implement a training and development plan for your employees.

Goal :

To develop the knowledge and skills necessary to optimise employee performance in order to increase the efficiency of your departments and to improve manager-employee communications.

Course Objectives :
  1. Provide managers with the right tools to measure employees performances in terms of productivity and /or attitude.
  2. Understand what level of performance is needed.
  3. Attach business objectives to individual and group performance
  4. Establish realistic objectives and point out the result expected.
  5. Identify internal and external factors that have an impact on performance.
  6. Develop a performance management process.
  7. Discover performance measuring tools.
  8. Clarify the role and responsibilities of managers.
  9. Identify effective feedback practices.
  10. Conduct successful performance appraisal interviews.
  11. Develop methods that are appropriate for modifying expectations as well as for creating a development plan for employees.
  12. Establish a training program aimed to address discrepancies in employee performance.

Employee Performance Process Using a Mobilisation Model
  • Understanding the distinction between the management of traditional productivity (retrospective view) and performance management (prospective view)
  • Integrate performance management within the process of human resources mobilisation
  • Optimise the performance process in a coherent human resources management management
  • Using performance appraisal results for the purposes of remuneration and employee development

Improvement objectives
  • Develop employee orientation towards “what is essential’ for the company
  • Establish a link between individual performance criteria and business objectives
  • Identify and formulate objectives that are specific and stimulating
  • Use an approach that promotes employee commitment towards company’s objectives

  • Integrate a competency model into the performance appraisal process

  • Bind employee evaluation to organisational performance management system

  • Build and develop a training program adressing variations in performance

  • Draw inspiration from best practices in the field of employee performance appraisal
  • Identify the methods for defining performance appraisal criteria

  • Develop the skills to evaluate  his employees performances
  • How to collect observable and/or measurable facts
  • How to capitalise on the strenght and develop areas for improvement
  • How to articulate a feedback and how to request for behavourial change
  • Discover feedback techniques
  • Study how to conduct appreciation meetings
  • Identify the principal steps and success factors in appreciation meetings with employees

Recognize Performance
  • Know different practices in performance recognition

Methodology The course will make use of theoretical cases, practical exercises, and experience-sharing.  Training exercises, role-playing, individual assignments and small group work .
