| Lean Management - Toyota Model
Course Name:
Lean Management - Toyota Model
 |
| Introduction : |
| Toyota , the main example of a lean company, is quickly becoming the biggest automobile manufacturer in the world in terms of global sales. Its success is brilliant, as much in sales growth as in its increase of market shares, without speaking of its overwhelming lead in hybrid technologies. This company is therefore the best proof of the power of the lean method. In general, we think that 30 to 40% of the activities of a company are inefficient and constitutes by this, wastage of energy and money. The lean office is an application of known and experienced principles in the world of production (identification of client value, process comprehension, systematic elimination of losses, flow, work contingent on demand from the internal client, continuous improvement, work repartition and balancing of the charges) in the administrative processes, repetitive or at high volumes, like, for example, recording of orders, the verification and payment of all invoices, pay elaboration. |
The lean philosophy resumes itself in about this: every resource, being rare and precious, must be exploited at its best eliminating all waste. The office environment contains in fact, several opportunities to use lean to reduce costs, personnel needs, increase the profitability of the activities in general. What is:
- The constraint theory
- The Lean management
- The Kaizen
- The Six Sigmas
- The five S
What are the advantages and benefits to gain in adapting these approache to your company ???

- Improve the productivity and the profitability of the company’s activities;
- Counter the shortage of personnel by rationalising the processes;
- Understand and organize workshops for problem solving and determine alternative solutions;
- Determine and optimise the value flow in the operations chain;
|
 |
|
Cours Outline :
DAY 1
|
- The constraint theory adapted to management and office activities
- A constraint is a factor that limits the performance of a system;
- Limiting operation;
- Definition and identification of flows;
- The cartography of the processes;
- Identification and evaluation of the wastage sources (7 types);
- Wastage from overproduction;
- Wastage from waiting time;
- Wastage from transport;
- Wastage from useless stocks;
- Wastage in the fabrication process;
- Useless movements;
- Wastage from defective parts.
|
|
DAY 2
|
- The 5 why’s method (Kaizen, problem solving)
- Preparing a Kaizen workshop: Defining the goals, choosing participants, solving the material problems;
- Animating a Kaizen workshop: Proposing improvement actions, reorganize by creating an action plan of structured improvement;
- Handling, supporting and accompanying the team of the change project.
- The five S method
- “The lean sigma” does not limit itself to the manufacturer field. “The lean office” is even used to describe the lean concepts
in a service environment.
|
|
DAY 3
|
- The signification of the 5 s method (lean sigma)
- Separate – Alleviate the work space of what is useless;
- Situate – Organize the work space in an efficient way;
- Sparkle – Improve the cleanliness of the area;
- Standardise – Standardise the operation modes;
- Simulate – Encourage performance;
- Determine the production standards aimed at the different types of operation;
- Identify the value chain: the value chain buckles and revision of chain values for the ensemble of the operations;
- Calculate the impacts of the lean modifications on the value chains;
- Formalize the modifications for monitoring.
|
 |
| Methodology |
The training integrates expert testimonial, demonstration, workshop, exercisesc and simulations and case studies.
